What happens when you start drinking at 11:30AM? You’re in bed by 7PM!
Yesterday, we met up with some friends at The Wine Dive for Brunch and $10 bottomless mimosas. Our reservations was at 11:30AM. Deena wanted to start at 10:30AM but 11:30AM was the earliest time available.
Huck and I decided to split the Chicken and Waffles. The chicken had a Honey and Vanilla glaze on it, and the gravy was spicy. It made a great combination.
Huck didn’t care for the mimosas and stuck to beer. He was so frustrated because he would order a beer and our waitress would forget. He averaged over 30 minutes of wait time per beer. She made sure to keep the Mimosas coming, though. My poor beer loving Husband.

Huck smiling because he finally got at beer… And Ty trying to steal some of it.
We stayed at The Wine Dive until 2:30ish. I was happy when we were up moving around. I was full and uncomfortable from drinking so much liquid.
At some point, someone decided we should do an Irish Pickle Back (A shot of Jameson followed by a shot of pickle juice. Weird, I know, but the pickle juice cuts the burn of the Jameson! It’s actually pretty good.)
There is always that one person in the group, that wants to do shots. Everyone is having a great time and someone says “WE SHOULD DO SHOTS!” It’s never a good idea people! No one wakes up the next day and said “I’m really glad we did those shots last night!!” It never happens! But for some reason, in the moment, it seems like a great idea!
So, the plan was to do an Irish Pickle Back, but we some how ended up in a sushi restaurant doing Sake Bombs. I blame that on the mimosas!
No sure why I’m smiling! I know this is going to suck!!
And this is the moment everyone realized shots were not a good idea!
Huck’s new thing, taking pictures of me wearing his hats.
At around 5:30, our group started dwindling down. We decided that we would walk to City Place and grab some food before heading home.
We ordered a medium, house, pizza and demolished all of it. Luckily, we had a long walk back to the car to help our food digest.
We made it home around 7:30, and I crawled straight into bed. It was a long day!
The problem with falling asleep at 7:30, I was wide awake at 11:30 and didn’t go back to sleep until after 3.
For lunch day, we enjoyed leftover Corned Beer and Cabbage Soup. I’m a fan of taking leftovers and making them into soup.
I added the leftover meat, carrots, cabbage, and mashed potatoes to a pot with chicken stock. I cooked the soup over medium heat until it started to boil. That’s it!
Now, I have to go to the gym and work off all the extra calories I’ve consumed the past few days!
