Yesterday, Dianna from The Kitchen Prep, evented us to her Kentucky Derby party.
When I got the invite, I was excited about two things: The hat and the food!
Dianna is my local Food Blogging buddy! We’ve met up a few times to talk blog stuff. I feel so lucky to have someone that I have so much in common with. She understands everything that goes into this “hobby”.
She posted a few of the recipes on her blog this week. She also posted the menu. It was impressive!
I was lacking with my food photos, but all the food was amazing! She had…
Pineapple Julep Fruit Salad, Fruit Salad, and Cheese Straws.
The main course was full of great recipes, and I didn’t even take a picture of any of it :(
She Pinned some of the recipes on Pinterest. (I took these pics from her Pinterest board. Click on the link to find the source and recipe)
Blue Cheese Bacon Dip (This was one of my favorites)
And then there was dessert!
She even made Derby Pie. I tried a couple crumbs (I was so stuffed). It tasted like a big cookie. (Click on the link for the recipe.)
I also had half of the Maple Cupcake with Bacon! I’ve wanted to make Candied Bacon for a while and after trying one of these, it has moved to the top of my to make list!
We actually watched the Derby, too. This was the first time I’ve every watched it. And yes, it was the fastest 2 minutes in sports!
My horse even won ;)
Thanks again Dianna! We had a great time, and I enjoyed talking about our upcoming blog conference. Huck enjoyed doing “Man Stuff”, too!
