Note to self…. Never walk up a spiral stair case with vertigo!!!
Tuesday, after publishing my post, I told Huck it was time to go to the Doctor. I’ve been feeling dizzy on and off the past few days and figured I was developing an ear infection. My ears do not hurt, but I do have some sinus pressure. I felt like I was on a boat and it would no go away. Huck took me to MD Now. The PA told me my ears were slightly red, which could explain the dizziness. She did an EKG to make sure it wasn’t anything more, and she checked my blood sugar. The EKG was fine, but my blood sugar was low. I ate a couple hours before. I’ve been told I have low blood sugar before and thought my dizziness could be related to that, as well.
I left with a few Rx and a diagnosis of Vertigo and Hypoglycemic Reaction and instructed to eat 5-6 smaller meals a day. The rest of my day was spent on the couch. Today, Huck and I rode to Saint Augustine for a claim. After a 3.5 hour drive, the claim took all of 15 minutes. We decided since we drove all that way, we would make a day of it and go to the lighthouse.
I started to feel dizzy again before we even started up the stairs.
I was fine once I made it back outside.
I complained because I had to walk up the stairs in khakis and closed toed shoes. Imagine wearing stuff like this in South Florida in the middle of the summer time! NO THANK YOU!!!!!
Oh and we found Shrimp in a can :/
They even sold beer. They would make a killing if they offered these at the top of the lighthouse!
Our plan was to have lunch downtown, but we could not find a parking spot anywhere. We were both really hungry and decided to find something on the way back to 95. We rode around the downtown area before heading home.
We passed by BONO’s BBQ about 10 miles from downtown. BBQ sounded good and the parking lot was full… Why not? I ordered the Beef Brisket and Smoked Chicken. The brisket needed like 5 more hours in the smoker to even be chewable. I was very disappointed. The smoked chicken was great, though. I’ve been craving some good smoked chicken lately.
Eating a large lunch and driving multiply hours do not mix. Luckily Huck and I talked the whole way. We arrived home around 530. 10 hour day for a 15 minutes claim. Crazy!!
Where’s the BEEF??
I feel like the blog has become Life, Beer, and overeating! I have a few recipes that I need to post but lately we have been eating out or cooking recipes I’ve already posted. I’m working on the food part… I promise I really need to get in the kitchen and start experimenting more. It would make me feel a lot better I’m sure.
Anyone have any recommendations for recipes or food to try??
