Huck gives me a hard time because, depending on what day my Birthday is, I celebrate Birthday weekends or weeks. This year my Birthday was on a Friday so I celebrated all week .
Life is short, and I have a limited number of Birthdays to celebrate before my time is done here. So, I see no problem in celebrating all week.
Really, I only started celebrating Thursday night. Our A/C was fixed Thursday. The house felt amazing around dinner time, so Huck decided to make me dinner.
This is what our house was like for the past 3 days. We have to greatest landlord. He upgraded our A/C to a much larger unit which will help with the power bill and easier to keep the house cool.
It was glorious when the air came on.
For dinner, he made Baked Chicken and Rice topped with Cheese and Crushed Tortillas Chips. He added the uncooked rice with water to a baking dish and topped with the 3 chicken breast. He baked them at 425 for 30 minutes and added the cheese and tortillas and baked for 10 more minutes.
Huck and I started watching Friends with Benefits late that night. I enjoyed the movie. Around 11PM, I decided I wanted a beer. I started drinking some Shiner Bock, and 3 beers and 1/2 a Kool-Aid Wheat later, I was feeling nice. Me and Huck listened to music and talked until 130AM or so before we called it a night.
I started a little collection.
Friday morning I woke up and headed to the Tag Office, to get my tag transferred to Florida. Yes, I waited until the last minute, but Huck only gets paid once a month. I was told it would cost over $400, so I waited until he got paid. After waiting an hour, I was told I needed Florida insurance. I called and asked what I needed to register my tag, and when I arrived they checked all my information and never said anything about Florida Insurance. I had to call Allstate, and change my policy and pay the first month payment after we just paid for our insurance a couple days ago. Registering my car in Florida cost well over $500. HAPPY BIRTHDAY to me!
For dinner, we went to a Sushi restaurant near our house. When we walked into Koon Manee at 6PM, there was no one there but the staff. I told Huck I wasn’t sure about eating there. How good could an empty restaurant be? We ordered a cooked roll. I was worried ordering raw fish at a restaurant that did not look like it had much turn over. We also ordered Jumbo Shrimp in a Garlic and Black Pepper Sauce. Most Chinese restaurant food is covered in sauce that taste like nothing but soy sauce and sodium. Our entree was anything but sodium. There were so many layers of flavors and veggies that were cooked perfectly. We definitely found our new sushi spot.
After dinner, we went to Square Grouper to meet what I thought was just going to be just Nate and Sue from the Brew Bar. Sue text me earlier in the day and told me that were going to be there. I guest Huck wanted it to be a surprise. Every time he tries to surprise me, I found out. Not my fault by the way!!
When we arrived we walked up to the bar, and I seen my former coworker and her husband (my new coworker) walking toward us. Huck took my phone while I was sleeping to get her number to invite them. It was such a great surprise. (Huck really is amazing!!!) Jilda and Warren also brought me a gift. Her mom (who is one of the nicest ladies ever!!) has an embroidering business.
Really, is this not the coolest gift ever?? I wear aprons when I bake, but I think I will be wearing this all the time now!
We found a table by the water, and sat around and talked for a couple hours before everyone went home. I had a few beers before everyone left and felt good. I am so glad they left when they did. Huck and I sat around a little longer, and I finished one more beer and it went down hill… Fast. A guy came up and asked if anyone was sitting in the empty chairs at our table. I said “Yes, can’t you see all our friends?” He picked up the chair, pretended to throw someone out of it and walked away. Huck loves when I get drunk. On our way to the car, it started raining. I guess I keep telling Huck it was raining. He keep saying “Yes. It is raining” Me: “But it is raining hard!” Huck: “Yes. It is raining!” This conversation went on for awhile.
I came home and sat on the porch where the world started spinning… FAST. It was like being on the Zero Gravity ride. I decided I needed some food to help sober me up.
Huck was enjoying this way to much And yes, it was only 11PM!
I warmed my food up and sat it on the coffee table and feel asleep. I never even ate my food. Huck walked outside when I was warming my food up and came back in to me like this. He decorated the chair with cards and took a lot of pictures! He tried to get me to go to bed, but I wasn’t moving. I woke up around 630AM and felt great! Surprisingly!!
A couple Huck did a few jobs for when we lived in Georgia, were in the area Saturday, and came by for the day.
We went to a Beer and Burger Bash and Blowing Rock Preserves.
