Now that I have your attention.  I (Huck) am the guest speaker/blogger.  I have no blogging experience.  If this is horrible blame Sloan.  She should have wrote the post.  Let me start by saying this blog is about our one year proposal anniversary Jan. 4 2013 and it’s from my view point.

7:00 am –  I awake.  Sloan was dead to the world, and I knew she wasn’t waking up anytime soon.  So I cook me some leftovers from the night before.  I can’t remember what it was but I probably had no problem eating it.

10:00am – Sloan awakes.  I did nothing special for breakfast.  I could have but I had no idea when she was getting up.  Plus I can’t cook well.  I am usually in bed early and up early and she is opposite.  That is why she hates me in the morning.  She’s not a morning person, and I scream and sing stupid a$$ songs to the dogs.  They love it.

10:00am – 12:00pm – We are working.  As crazy as it sounds we work too.  Our work is time sensitive.  As long as we hit our timelines people are happy.  Sometimes they can be a pain but for the most part it isn’t too bad.  I am really proud of Sloan.  She is kicking butt at doing claims.  She says she isn’t but she is doing it better than most seasoned pros that have been doing it for years.  I could be doing better but A.D.D kicks in all the time.  Airplane Airplane.

12:00pm – I am in fat boy mode.  I come down stairs and see if Sloan wants lunch and she was busy working.  She said she wasn’t hungry.  Here comes my chance to cook for myself.  She always says I cook the same thing and it’s true.  Here is one of my 5 recipes that I love (even though it’ll kill me).

MEAT NOODLES and GRAVY

Parts List

  • 1- Old sauce
  • 1- Big Pot
  • 1- Strainer
  • 2- Big A spoons

Food List

  • 1lb – Ground Turkey/Beef (Your choice)
  • 16oz- Elbow noodles
  • 3 – packets of SODIUM… Gravy
  • 1- Green Pepper
  • 1- Red Onion
  • Some – garlic powder to taste
  • Some – black pepper to taste
  • Extra – Salt to taste (It helps with blood pressure or I like to think that)

Directions – Chop onion and green pepper into sizes suitable for yourself.  My cutting skills suck and there are several different sizes.  Start to brown the ground meat.  Add garlic, salt, and pepper and let simmer.  Half way through the browning of the meat add veggies (They are healthy).  Once the meat is completely cooked strain and leave in the pan.  The gravy pack says one packet gets one cup of water that needs to be whisked in with cold water.  That’s crap.  If I do that it adds another step.  Put gravy powder on the meat and add water to it.  After that you stir really fast with a spoon.  It works.    I then leave the gravy/meat to simmer.  The noodles are easy.  Put in a boiling pot and add some more salt so they don’t stick then wait 7 minutes.  Pull a noodle out throw it on the wall and if it sticks it ready.  I don’t do that but a bachelor friend of mine did do that.  Strain noodles and mix.  The simple dish is done.

4:00pm – We decided work is over lets go to the beach.  We went to the proposal site where I held the box upside down a year ago.  That beach means the world to me.  I know she enjoys it too.  It has been incredible here and that sealed the deal.  We walked on the beach and told stories and then realized we had friends that were going to meet us at TBC.  It was time to go.

5:00 pm – We are at TBC with Deena and Alex.  What a great way to finish the day.  Wife, great beer, and friends to be around.

I hope you enjoyed.  Like I said, earlier, if you don’t blame the wife.

Huck

Loved it Huck, ya done a great job. I can’t believe Sloan got you to do it. Even though Wade has surprised me lately wanting to check out my face book and play my games. I’m sure you’ll be back for an encore. Love You Both, Mama Mathis
