Hum… What to talk about… I’ve looked at those 5 words for 15 minutes. I thought about just posting a picture and the recipe but figured I could come up with something. I didn’t know it was going to be this hard.
I’ve been brainstorming a few ideas for my own business. It would kind of tie into the blog, too. It’s an idea I’ve thought about a few times and just recently started really researching. And yes, that is all I’m telling you about it :) Oh and Huck thinks it’s a good idea.
In other news, I cleaned out my closet yesterday and found some old pictures. This one was my favorite.
I actually have a picture of me just like this from a few years ago.
The second picture was definitely alcohol induced! I was 22, single, and drunk!
I can tell I was drinking just from looking at this picture. I have droopy eyes and forget to open them wider for the camera when I’m drinking. Apparently, one eye is droopier than the other.
Now on to the food!
When I make black beans, I freeze the leftovers. It makes dishes like this super easy.
For the blackening spicy, I used a mixture of equal parts Ground Red Pepper, Ground Jalapeno, Garlic Powder, Paprika, Onion Powder, Salt, Pepper, and a dash of Cumin. I didn’t really measure anything. You can buy premade blackening spices if you do not want to make your own.
I just thickly coat the fish with my seasonings and sear in a very hot pan. I lightly coated the bottom of the pan with vegetable oil before adding the fish. Easy Peasy!
One more thing
This weekend we are going to Key West to celebrate Deena’s 30th birthday. The only time I’ve been to Key West was during a family vacation when I was 22. (This post is a flash back to when I was 22 if you haven’t noticed) Me, my mom and dad, and Tabby went on a 5 day cruise to the Bahamas.
Our first stop was Key West. I remember we took a trolley around town, to see all the sights, and a girl on a moped crashed into the side of it. Luckily, she was OK. Tabby HATES trolleys.
After our sightseeing, me and Tabby went to Duval Street. Bar hoping with my 18 year old sister. I was such a great role model!
We had so much fun hanging out together on that trip. I think we did anyways ;) Growing up she was my annoying little sister with chubby cheek and pigtails, but now she’s my best friend! I love you Tabby. Happy Sibling Day!
