This morning, Huck and I got up and went to Jim’s Place for breakfast. We’ve been there a couple times, and the Stuffed Biscuits are incredible . Today, after waiting an hour for our food, they were not that special, and we, probably, will not be going back. The table next to us asked our waitress why it was taking so long and she snapped off “Because we have to serve everyone else, too”. Not the best answer. I’m sure any other answer but that would have worked. The look on the ladies face was priceless. I’m sure she isn’t going back either.
After breakfast, we went to the Busch Wildlife Sanctuary in Jupiter. It’s a pretty cool place. There is lots of rescued and endangered animals. Admission is free but they ask for donations.
The coolest thing we seen was the Bald Eagles. I never realized how big they are.
They have a wing span of 8 feet!
This is the mean muggin owl. I’m so mad the fence blocked his eyes. He did not like me taking pictures of him.
They had multiple exotic birds. Most of them are donated by the owners that can not take care of them anymore. The prettiest one was Blue and Yellow and his name was Bud Light! There was another bird that said Hello. I told Huck we could never have a talking bird. I am a fan of four letter words, and I’m sure the first word we would learn would start with an F!
Did you know the Florida Panther sleeps 18 hours a day and there is only about 150 in the wild? You would if you went to the Wildlife Sanctuary!
The place isn’t that big. We walked around and seen everything in about an hour.
This concludes another New Activity of the Week. Next week I’ll have a New Activity Weekend, and I’ll post my New Recipe of the Week Monday or Tuesday.
We leave Thursday for Minnesota to visit some friends. This will be mine and Huck’s first flight together. In 5 years, we’ve never been on a plane together and I’ve never been this far north. It should be exciting and cold!
