Time for another WIAW… Sweating my butt off edition. I’m sure some of you may think this means I am working out, running, or doing something active. If you know me, you know that isn’t true. Yesterday, our A/C decided to die on us, and the whole unit has to be replace. So currently our house is 84 degrees. We keep our thermostat between 70-72 degrees. 84 is way to hot to sleep comfortably and Ginny isn’t taking it very well, either.
The A/C guy will be here at 9AM, so hopefully tonight will be the last night without A/C. Our South Florida house is not designed for A/C-less conditions.
I spent a Summer semester in Italy 4 years ago (OMG 4 years ago????), and did not have A/C for almost the whole time I was there. One weekend, we stayed in a Hostel that did have A/C. It really wasn’t that bad, though. Our apartment had a great breeze and air flow. (It was 100’s of years old) And every room had windows that went from my waist to the ceiling with large shutters.
A picture of one of my neighbors house.
This is what I woke up to every morning while I was there. I could do without A/C for this.
Montepulciano was one big hill, though. 80+ degree temps and straight up hills do not mix
Just to bore you with a few pictures from my trip! Eww I want to go back!!
Anyways, back to WIAW. This morning started off with yogurt and fruit.
I forgot to take a picture of my actually breakfast this morning, but it looked just like this but with Strawberry Banana Yogurt. This picture reminds me, I need to make more of my Homemade Peanut Butter Granola Bars. Yummy!!
Lunch was leftover dinner from a few nights ago.
For this recipe, I used canned Black Beans and spiced them up with some Jalapenos, onion, and garlic. For the rice, I used my recipe for Easy “Spanish” Rice, and the fish was seasoned with Salt Free Cajun Seasoning, Ground Jalapeno Powder (My new favorite thing), and Salt and Pepper. I heated up a large pan over medium-high heat and sprayed it with Non-Stick Cooking Spray. Make sure you do not crowd the pan with fish or it will lower the heat and you will not get a good sear on the fish. I served mine with extra salsa and sour cream. Huck said the sour cream ruined the picture, but I like sour cream and I think it looks great!!
I used Flounder for this recipe, but any white fish will do.
Around 5, we decided to go to Sprint to look at phones. My poor phone has been through so much. After looking around, I decided to just have them fix my speaker for now. I want to look at Best Buy to see who has better deals. But for now, my alarm will work again
While we waited for them to fix my phone, we road around Juno Beach looking for somewhere to eat. Huck was like a little kid when I told him we passed a Tijuana Flats and I was worried he was going to make a U-Turn in the median.
Guess what Tijuana Flats serves?! TACOS!! And some really good ones too. I’m actually pretty excited to have one close by.
Everyone goes to Tijuana Flats for the Hot Sauce Bar. It is Huck’s favorite part. My sissy hot sauce was much hotter than my tear jerker. I think they got them confused.
2 Beef Tacos
2 Steak and 1 Chicken.
After dinner we went to the beach for a walk.
And after our walk on the beach, we stopped by Tequesta Brewery for a beer. We really did not want to go home!!
I enjoyed their “I got 99 problems but a Peach ain’t one” Wheat Beer while we watched the Braves game. I felt like I was in Atlanta but with a beach.
It is currently 84 downstairs in our house. I have the patio door open, so hopefully it will circulate some air. I will probably be sleeping on the couch tonight, just because it is so much cooler down here!
I hope everyone enjoyed my Italy Flash Back, WIAW no A/C edition, date night Post.
Good Night Everyone!!
