Hi! It’s been a while since I have wrote a blog post. Six years to be exact. A lot has changed since I hit publish on my last post. Back then, I was working so much. After working 12+ hours a day, I had no desire to cook anything. Being in the kitchen went from being therapeutic to miserable. I tried to keep posting to the blog, but typically would just feel stress that I wasn’t posting as frequently as I’d hoped.
I was coming back from Tampa after looking at 10 jobs and driving across the state, alone, at 1AM when I decided to quit blogging. It instantly made me feel better.
Over the last few months, I’ve really started to miss it though. Work has slowed down, and I’ve found my love for cooking again.
Life Food and Beer use to be a space where I shared recipes made with beer and recaps from our beer themed travels. Though I still enjoy a stout on a cool day or a good IPA every now and then, beer isn’t a big part of my life anymore.
In 2018, I decided to completely change my diet to help with issues I was having from my psoriasis and psoriatic arthritis. My “diet” has really helped with my symptoms. When I’m home, most of our dinners follow the Paleo or Whole30 plans, but I do not eat that way all the time. I love wine, good bread and beer too much. I do try to limit foods I’ve found cause my skin issues to be worse and only enjoy them on special occasions.
I’m pretty sure most people think I eat bowls of plain kale and cardboard everyday. I don’t! That’s why I decided to start sharing my recipes here. Food has changed my life. I hope my recipes will help someone else be able to feel better or just eat a good meal.
